In order to look young, fit and attractive, each part of our body and face must have a proportion in itself. The main factor in having a more attractive appearance is the acceptance of this holistic approach.
Our face may be free of wrinkles, our neck may be tighter, our cheeks may be thinner, but if we have double chin and skin loosening, it is not possible for us to look younger and more attractive without intervention in this area.
What Is A Double Chin?
The jowl area is located under the chin. It is the name given to the area between the neck and the chin. Fattening in the jowl area due to weight changes is a common problem. Moreover, fats in the jowl region are among the resistant fats that cannot be left behind with sports and diet. In addition to fattening, skin loosening in the jowl area due to the loss of elasticity of the skin with aging is also among the frequently seen aesthetic problems.
What Is A Chin Lift Aesthetic?
Jowl removal plastic surgery is a procedure that involves removing the fattening in the jowl area and stretching the loosened skin. Although the chin aesthetic surgery performed under general anesthesia is an operation that takes an average of 2 hours, it is an operation that is completed almost without leaving any traces, since the traces of the operation can be hidden very well.
Depending on the scope of the procedure to be performed, local anesthesia can also be preferred in the chin aesthetic surgery. Especially if there is no skin loosening and there is only fattening, then local anesthesia can be preferred. However, due to the fact that the jowl area is close to the face and the patient witnesses the procedure to a large extent, we often perform jowl aesthetic surgeries under general anesthesia for the comfort of our patients.
Which Methods Are Used In Chin Removal Aesthetics?
Jowl removal aesthetics is a set of applications. The method and incision techniques to be used are decided by evaluating the condition of our patient. Liposuction is intervened if our patients only complain about the fat accumulating under the chin in chin removal plastic surgery. However, if there are deformations on the skin due to aging, then the skin is stretched and the excess skin is surgically removed. We can consider chin removal surgery as an operation performed with three different methods. These; It is a double chin removal with liposuction, a jowl removal with a stretching procedure, and finally a neck stretching in which the deformations in the neck are removed. All except the first procedure are methods that are performed under general anesthesia and require a 1-day stay in the hospital.
While the liposuction method is usually sufficient in the 40s in chin removal aesthetics, stretching is often used when it comes to the 50s. In the aesthetic surgery, which is a comfortable operation, if only the jowl area is to be intervened, the procedure can be easily completed with a small incision made under the chin. Moreover, since the incision will be under the chin, the scar is almost invisible. However, if the neck area is also to be intervened, then an incision is made behind the ear, and this incision becomes invisible over time to a large extent.
Jowl removal aesthetics with long-term results is a reliable operation. Although it has the minimal risk of complications in every plastic surgery operation, there will be no change in your voice after the operation. Your speech will not be damaged or there will be no loss in your facial expressions.
How To Prepare For Chin Surgery?
In order to better evaluate our patients who apply to us for chin surgery, we first take them for consultation examination. During this examination, we want our patients to share their medical histories with us, and we also ask them to indicate if they are regularly prescribed medications.
The aesthetic treatment of chin removal varies between 30 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the detail of the application and the intervention protocol. Therefore, in order to minimize the possible risks, first of all, our patients who use blood thinners should stop taking blood thinners for 10 days after the operation.
In addition, green tea, cherry stalk, etc., which is thought to have a blood thinning effect and the consumption of all herbal teas should also be left in the preparation processes for the operation.
Another issue to be considered in the preparation phase of aesthetic surgery operations is smoking. Since smoking will delay the healing of surgical incisions, it is important to stop using it about 10 days before the operation.
If the neck region will also be intervened and general anesthesia will be used in chin surgery, we will host our patients in the hospital for 1 day. In such a case, our hospital staff will take care of you at every moment, and it will make you feel even better if you arrange your companion to stay with you before the operation and have someone close to you with you.
How Is Chin Surgery Performed?
On the day of the operation, our patients should come to the hospital with an 8-hour fast. For this reason, the night before the operation, they should arrange their eating and drinking order accordingly.
The operation is a comfortable operation and is completed in a short time. If only the fat in the jowl area of the patient will be intervened, liposuction is performed. This process includes entering the area with lubrication with special thin cannulas and removing the fat from the body by liquefying it. Regardless of local or general anesthesia, our patients do not experience any pain or pain during chin surgery.
If the skin is to be intervened in the chin surgery, an incision is made under the chin, from the tip, and after the liposuction procedure, the skin is stretched from this point and the excess skin is removed. If the chin-up aesthetic is combined with a stretching surgery to be performed on the neck area, then an incision is made behind the ear and the neck area is stretched, and the operation is completed with suturing after the excess skin is surgically removed. Afterwards, a special corset is attached to the neck area, making the healing process more comfortable and less edematous. It is important to use the corset for 4-5 days on average.
What Should Be Considered After Chin Surgery?
Tickle removal surgery has a comfortable recovery process. Within 1 week after the operation, partial mild pain, a feeling of tension under the chin and edema are a situation we expect. Mild painkillers can easily overcome this process. Self-dissolving sutures are used in chin-up aesthetics. Therefore, you do not need to come to the hospital again to have the stitches removed after the operation.
You can easily eat a few hours after the operation. Your surgery will not change or restrict the way you eat.
You must inform us before you start to use the medications you regularly use, which are prescribed by other doctors immediately after the operation.
Not neglecting the use of the corset worn after the operation allows you to spend the healing process comfortably. On the 4th day after the operation, our patients can take a shower, provided that they use warm water. However, they should not do any rubbing or fibering.
Although there are edemas in the first week, all edema and bruises are left behind in an average of 1 month, but the regeneration and recovery of the skin tissue can take up to 3 months. You can easily return to work 1 week after the operation.
